In 2021, The smartphone market is very competitive, and there are a lot of choices. Simultaneously, the smartphone world and its significant innovations depend entirely on two companies, Apple and Samsung. Apple and Samsung own the market, especially Apple.
Due to the lack of competition at the high end, innovation at the high end has not been up to the mark. With this lack of competition, Companies such as Apple and Samsung find it easier to take advantage of consumers, whether it is by slowing down their smartphones or making phones which are similar to phones they released the year before. Samsung while they do make good phones and trying to innovate with their fold series, Samsung is the only major Android competitor at the high end, and because of this, it affects Android users as they don’t have more choices and options. We live in a world of ecosystems. Ecosystems are all around us, whether it’s our environment or even our consumer products.
The consumer electronic products we use today are not standalone products anymore. They are part of an ecosystem, an ecosystem of products. The ecosystem of products area is where Apple dominates. One of the biggest reasons Apple is the most valuable company on earth is because of the ecosystem, the ecosystem with the iPhone, MacBook, iPad, Mac, wearable devices, audio devices, and of course, services such as Apple TV+ and Apple Music, and many more. There is no other smartphone company that can offer an ecosystem like this, and that affects the user as well. With no competition in the area of ecosystems, Apple is the only choice.
Lack of competition hurts the customer and slows down innovation in critical areas, and this needs to be addressed. Enter Google Pixel; all these issues we discussed can be managed and solved. There needs to be a company with the resources and the technology to take on both Samsung and Apple, and that company is Google. Google owns Android, and Google keeps improving Android every year; because of this, Google is positioned the best for competing with Samsung to provide the best Android Flagship.
